About FASS

FASS is a charity that operates in Fife, Scotland. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of people who are affected by alcohol related problems. We have been helping people since 1977.

We provide specialist therapeutic help for people in difficulty because of excessive drinking. We also provide support for members of the family and for friends who are trying to cope.

Sensible Drinking

In these articles we explore how the body deals with alcohol and we offer suggestions for drinking more safely.

This is for people who are concerned that they may be drinking more than is safe and sensible. It’s for people who want to be in control of their drinking, to reduce how much they drink, or to stop.

However, if you are already experiencing more serious problems because of your drinking then it's time to get in touch with FASS Alcohol Support Services or your Doctor.

You may also find our Sensible Drinking booklet helpful. Sensible Drinking is just one in a range of free Alcohol Support and Information leaflets and booklets that FASS produces. The full range is available here.

Helping Others

One of the hardest things to go through in life is being the friend or family member of someone with a drinking problem. In this article we describe the best way to help someone who has a problem and the changes you can make to look after yourself.

You may also find our free Looking after Others booklet helpful. It's one of the Alcohol Support and Information booklets available here.
