Reaching out

Our Community Drug Service provides specialist help for individuals and families concerned about use of substances. We help with all kinds of drugs including opiates, cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy and the new psychoactive substances (NPS) or "legal highs". These are now actually classified as “Illegal”. We also help people who are having problems with prescribed medications and also help people who are having problems with alcohol, often mixed with drugs.

We are available in the communities of Dunfermline & West Fife and Kirkcaldy.

We reach out to and help those who are vulnerable and at risk of harm. This is often people who are isolated and who have ‘fallen out of society’, or who have become cut off from help and support. Often this will be people who have already tried services without success, and who feel nothing will work for them.

“Without the help I received from the Community Drug Service I would be in a much worse state than I am now. I would be lost. I am so thankful for this help; they go over and above for people like me.”

Our Outreach Services support people on their personal journey of recovery. We help them find a path that suits their personal needs and that of their families, one that offers personal choice and control, and builds resilience.

We help people achieve goals of reduction and abstinence. We help to address life stresses including health, accommodation and lack of money. Individuals, families and friends affected by drug misuse experience a real and positive difference in their lives.

“Before I met the Community Drug Service worker, I sat at home crying. Not knowing where my life was going. Now I feel more positive. I can’t thank them enough.”
