The Community Drug Service provides specialist outreach service help for individuals and families in difficulty through use of illicit substances and difficulties with prescribed medications.

The service helps people build recovery from substance-related problems and improve their quality of life.

“I’m ever so grateful for all I’ve achieved through the help and support of your service. You supported me at a time in my life when it was most needed.”

“You saw me for the person I was inside the broken shell, and you made me see I had to come out of the shell and start taking my life back. Start living rather than just existing.”

The Service is available in the communities of Dunfermline & West Fife and Kirkcaldy and includes:

  • Assertive Outreach Support offering immediate care, crisis management with counselling skills support, advocacy, and help to break down barriers and engage with other services.
  • Recovery Support delivering treatment compliance programmes and relapse prevention essential to long-term recovery.

Our About and How it works sections have more information.

All our services are delivered in line with the Scottish Government’s ‘The Quality Principles: Standard Expectations of Care and Support in Drug and Alcohol Services’.
