Curnie Clubs is one year old

Curnie Clubs, our Big Lottery Funded project is relieving isolation and loneliness for some of the most vulnerable people in Fife.

We have 85 Club Members just now who are rediscovering their social confidence and self-esteem and moving on in life. They are drawing great benefit from organised therapeutic activity available in theclubs.

Setting smart goals to move through a cycle of change is starting with, “How I ended up in this position?” “How would I like life to be?” and “How can I make this happen?” Through exploring their issues together, Members are realising that, though they may have been physically alone, many others share similar circumstances.

Through their activity, Members are making their own very positive connections within their communities. Most are happy to have made friends and realize that they were not alone in their feelings of alienation. Relearning how to plan change, Members are being supported through the clubs to prepare for it. In this way, they are enabled to take control of their futures.
