Curnie Clubs is recruiting a Support Worker

Project Support Worker (Adults)

£22,389 per annum (pro rata). Funded initially for two years

16 hours per week

FASS’ Curnie Clubs service is looking to recruit a Project Support Worker. Funded by The National Lottery through the National Lottery Community Fund, Curnie Clubs is a peer support programme for adults who have become socially isolated as a result of living with a range of challenging circumstances.

The candidate will have experience of supporting people in a project setting. Very good communication and administration skills are required. Some out of hours work and travel required.

Curnie has been in operation since 2016 and has delivered support to those suffering from loneliness and isolation. The project quickly moved on to expanding its activities according to need and learning from our client base. Curnie can now boast group work, volunteering, Counselling and Foetal Alcohol Disorder Syndrome services.

Like many other services we changed our way of delivering support to accommodate lockdowns but this has left us with a legacy of using tech to meet with clients remotely when they cannot attend a group. Our hybrid model was recently highlighted by Big Lottery Community Fund in their blogs to beneficiaries of their grants as an indication of good practice.

This post initially is a two-year post and a continuation of that would be subject to further funding.

Our team is small, and our skillsets are varied we rely on each other to be the best we can be. The successful candidate after a settling in period is allowed a certain amount of autonomy within the post as this encourages creativity and forward thinking. Curnie staff though do depend on good working relationships with both staff and referrers. This post is an exciting one and can be challenging at times but very rewarding. Although Curnie is part of Fife Alcohol Support Services Curnie is in place to work with the whole of the community which helps make our work very diverse.

I am available for informal discussions regarding the post if you feel you require further information.
